Notts County is the oldest Football League club still in existence. They were invited to become founder members of the Football League in 1888. In 1890 the club started to play matches in their signature black and white strip. Without County, Juventus would never have worn their famous black and white since a set of strips were donated by County to them in 1903. In 1986, two magpies appeared in the club crest and they have remained ever since.
